Opening Night – 24 October

On Friday, 24 October, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the Helder Licht route will come alive with music and entertainment. The Singing Swan returns at De Nieuwe Brug, shining as the centerpiece of the evening. At De Pinas, you can meet the Kunstkoppen art act, while at De Bolder, the Helder street organ with harmonica brings cheerful tunes. In the City Park, Calibra performs live.

In addition, the impressive exhibition “Ik Zie Jou” (I See You) opens on the quay — a beautiful addition to the light art along the route, well worth a visit.

Saturday, 25 October

On Saturday evening, GentleBlend will deliver a warm, atmospheric performance in the City Park. Let their music guide you through the illuminated artworks and enjoy the unique blend of light and sound during Helder Licht.

Sunday, 26 October

During the Helder Licht route, the launch of a new art project will take place.

Under the motto “Let art get you through the dark,” the KUNSTKOPPEN act brings a bit of light to dark times.

Two unique creations can already be admired during the festival, while more are being developed behind the scenes. The Kunstkoppen are striking, whimsical figures that surprise and inspire curiosity in the streetscape.

Tuesday, 28 October

On Tuesday evening, the brass band Zo Niet Dan Toch will bring cheerful music along the Helder Licht route. You’ll find them near De Bolder or in the City Park, beneath the illuminated butterfly garden.

Wednesday, 29 October

On Wednesday evening, the brass band De Zwabbers will fill the City Park with festive energy under the glowing butterflies. You can find them there between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM, adding extra atmosphere to Helder Licht.

Thursday, 30 October – Halloween Market

It’s almost Halloween, which means the annual Halloween Market returns to Den Helder’s city center! On Thursday, 30 October, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, enjoy a spooky yet cozy atmosphere full of surprises.

The shopping streets transform into eerie scenes filled with witches, monsters, and ghosts. As haunting music echoes through the streets, you can stroll past market stalls and take part in the popular Trick-or-Treat game.

Friday, 31 October

On Friday evening, The Singing Swan returns to De Nieuwe Brug, a musical highlight you won’t want to miss. Calibra also brings back their lively performance in the City Park, adding sparkle among the light artworks of Helder Licht.

Additionally, the Municipality of Den Helder will hand out free bicycle lights near De Bolder to promote awareness for safe cycling.

Saturday, 1 November – Night Market

On Saturday, 1 November, the City Park (Julianaplein) transforms into a cozy night market full of light, atmosphere, and local creativity. From 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM, stroll among the stalls and discover unique items while enjoying the festival surroundings. GentleBlend will also perform again.

The night market is part of the Helder Licht Festival, so expect an enchanting evening full of color and wonder. Bring family or friends and enjoy the magical atmosphere in the park.

Sunday, 2 November

On the final evening of Helder Licht, Granddad Daniel will give a warm and soulful closing performance in the City Park. Enjoy one last night of light art, live music, and the special atmosphere that makes this festival truly unique.
