Light Art Festival Den Helder 2021
During the Dutch dark winter months, we can all use some extra light. Den Helder will shine a bright light during those dark days around Christmas and New Year in the city center and at the former dockyard Willemsoord.
The Light Art route is named Helder Licht, which means Bright Light in Dutch and will be able to take place this year after a literally dark lockdown last year. Ten spots will be lit up beautifully with light art projections. These light art projections are developed by national and international light artists especially for the city Den Helder and is themed “Together Again”. Walk this magical light route from December 18 until January 9 from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM. (except 31 December)(POSTPONED)
The light art route is around 2 km and starts with a spectacular lightshow on the water tower in the city center and will continue towards eight more specifically for Den Helder created light art projections that will end on the frontage of ‘t Torentje next to the Marinemuseum with an impressive documentary about 75+1 year independent Den Helder. Keep an eye on this page for more information and guided tours to see the light art route. In addition to guided tours, you can enjoy ice skating on the skating rink, follow a workshop photography with your mobile device or go shopping during the evenings that the stores are opened.
Get enchanted during this magical light festival!
