The Coastal Bus (kustbus)

In the mood for beach, nature or culture? Hop on the free Kustbus and discover the most beautiful spots between Petten and Den Helder. From June 2 to August 31, the Kustbus runs daily along the North Holland coast, with stops inviting you to hop off and explore.

Riding all the way to Den Helder station? You’ll find yourself in Willemsoord, the maritime heart of the city. Visit the National Lifeboat Museum or dive into naval history at the Navy Museum.

Getting off at Van Galenstraat? Then a tropical surprise awaits you at Hortus Overzee. A botanical garden full of palm trees, colourful flowers, and the largest Japanese garden with flowing water in the Netherlands. Surrounded by koi carp and turtles, you’ll truly unwind.

Craving sun and sea? Get off at Julianadorp beach access and feel the sand between your toes. Perfect for a surf lesson at Surfschool High 5, a refreshing dip, or just a relaxing beach day.
