DISCOVER YOUR FALL RISK AT THE VITALITY FAIRS IN DEN HELDER
Seniors aged 65+ living at home, take note. On Thursday 18 September, Team Sportservice Noordkop and the BNW Vitality Network host a free vitality fair at Triade. At these fair, you can measure your fall risk with an innovative Smartfloor.
Falls are an increasing risk for seniors. That’s why Team Sportservice Noordkop and the BNW Vitality Network organise these free vitality fairs in Den Helder. A key theme is fall prevention. The innovative Smartfloor measures visitors’ fall risk. Professionals are on site too: physio/ exercise therapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, community sports coaches, welfare organisations, and the Safety Region. They share information and answer questions.
Tailored options
After the walking test, you have a short talk with a professional. Is your fall risk elevated? Then you can join a certified fall-prevention course with nearby providers. You can also get referred to suitable balance training in your neighbourhood.
“The vitality fair gives Den Helder residents a great chance to discover local training and courses. We also help them take a first step toward fall prevention, including with the Smartfloor. This way we bring people together around vitality and encourage a healthy lifestyle,” says Selina Kooy, community sports coach at Team Sportservice Noordkop.
