The Triade architecture center is a relatively new initiative. This center in Den Helder is a collaboration between Triade, Municipality of Den Helder, Housing Foundation, Zeestad and City Marketing. It is the center for architecture and urban planning of Den Helder, Julianadorp and Huisduinen. We would like to share our passion for the (built) living environment with you. We organize activities and exhibitions for young and old throughout the year.
Activities and Exhibitions
In the past year we started with a number of lectures and we joined the Day of Architecture in 2023. This year we will again join in with this national day with various initiatives. Check the website for all activities. For us, architecture and urban planning are about all art forms related to it; interior architecture, urban planning, spatial planning, and garden and landscape architecture, etc.
Wednesday June 5
Lecture by Ron van Leeuwen of Kokon Architecture and Urban Planning about the transformation of the post-war district of De Schooten. Ron talks about, among other things, the metamorphosis of the gallery flats on the Hendrik Baskeweg, which are transformed into beautiful apartment buildings through the use of an innovative 3D concrete printing method.
The second part of the lecture is about the transformation of Nieuw Den Helder and will be given by Edzo Bindsels from the West 8 architectural firm.

Documentary 'Proof of the pudding' by Herman Herzberger
Architect Herman Hertzberger (1932) is one of the Netherlands' most famous architects. In Close-Up: In “The proof of the pudding” documentary makers Patrick Minks and Jaap Veldhoen show the transformation process of his most iconic building 'Centraal Beheer' in Apeldoorn from 1972. The documentary also sketches a portrait of Herzberger in which he explains his architectural vision. that he has formed over the years.
